Focus of Practice
Ms. George is an appellate lawyer with nineteen years of experience handling complex appellate litigation in both the criminal and the civil arenas. Prior to opening her private law practice in 2002, Ms. George was employed for twelve years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office and enjoyed the privilege of serving three of Oklahoma’s Attorneys General.

During her nineteen year career as a criminal appeals lawyer, Ms. George has handled nearly 800 criminal direct appeals before the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals, nearly 600 federal habeas corpus proceedings in the Oklahoma federal courts, hundreds of appeals before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and hundreds of post-conviction and state habeas corpus matters in the Oklahoma district courts. Ms. George has had the privilege of presenting numerous oral arguments before the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals and five oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Ms. George has handled numerous evidentiary hearings in both the state and federal courts in Oklahoma. Ms. George has drafted numerous pretrial and trial motions and pleadings in criminal cases. Ms. George’s unique experience on both the prosecution and the defense side of criminal appeals greatly benefits her clients and allows her to effectively analyze criminal cases from both perspectives.

Since opening her private practice in 2002, Ms. George has handled numerous civil appeals in the Oklahoma Supreme Court and in the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals, including appeals involving divorce and child custody, wills and trusts and bad faith/insurance defense.
